Our extensive experience in the Amazon region spanning over 30 years in the agroindustrial sector.
History and Legacy
We began in Lago Agrio with the dream of a young Zamorano engineer: to develop our farm and industrialize our products. We started with tilapia farming.
We imported high-quality tilapia genetics from the United States and promoted tilapia farming in the Ecuadorian Amazon, boosting regional development. In partnership with the Nueva Loja Prefecture, we trained over 2,000 people in tilapia management and production.
Nace oficialmente Agroindustrias González, con el propósito de organizar y fortalecer la producción agroindustrial y comercial. Iniciamos la cría de cerdos y su procesamiento, dando origen a nuestra primera fábrica de embutidos en la Amazonía ecuatoriana. Nos convertimos en representantes exclusivos de TOPIGS NORSVIN, la reconocida marca global de genética porcina.
With this alliance, Topswine was born in 2007, a new branch of the company dedicated to the breeding and marketing of swine genetics throughout the country.
We expanded within the Ecuadorian Amazon. In Borja, Baeza canton, we established our swine genetics unit, taking advantage of sanitary and isolation conditions. This led to the creation of Ecuador’s first nucleus of grandparent swine.
We rebuilt and expanded our swine infrastructure based on animal welfare, adopting European standards. In aquaculture, we developed genetic technology with tilapia “supermales,” optimizing production.
In the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, we reinvent ourselves and create Market d'Lago Connecting producers and consumers directly to bring fresh food from farm to table. We also earned our first certification. Welfair ensuring animal welfare on our pig farm.
We celebrate 30 years with new projects underway: expanding Market d’Lago with more locations, optimizing operations with a new meat processing plant, and developing a research and training center.
